[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical and veterinary compositions having hormonal, particularly progestational and antiestrogenic, activity contain 9a-unsubstituted-11#-bromo-19-norsteroids and, optionally, further compounds possessing hormonal activity, particularly estrogens. Tablets containing 17α-acetoxy-11#-bromo-19-norpregn-4- ene-3, 20-dione and ethynyl estradiol are among the compositions specifically disclosed. The compositions may be used for contraceptive purposes.
