The clearance 12 between the coupling and the said other section and the spherical surfaces 13, 14 enable the coupling to accommodate relative movement between the conveyer sections and furthermore ensures that the members are subjected only to tensile stresses. The minimum diameter of the member 3 is designed to withstand normal working loads but to break under overload and thereby protect other parts of the coupling and the conveyer. A tie bar (not shown) may be inserted in a hole 8 and a spanner &c. engaged with a shaped boss 11 for the assembly &c. of the coupling. |
