Photographic silver halide emulsions comprising, 50 mole % silver chloride are sensitized and stablized with a noble metal sensitizer and a liable selenuim compound as described in Specification 1, 098, 466 in the presence of a 3-pyrazolidone. A liable sulphur compound may be present during sensitization as described in Specification 1, 115, 038. The emulsion may contain speed increasing compounds e. g. quaternary ammonium salts, polyethylene glycol or polythioethers. Thiocyanates or polythia alkylene diols may be present during preparation of the emulsion. |
