Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,158,955. Spinning; expanding. TSENTRALNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT TEKHNOLOGII MASHINOSTROENIA. 2 May, 1967 No. 20250/67. Headings B3E and B3J. A method of processing a workpiece by plastic deformation for the purpose of shaping or hardening the workpiece comprises rotating the workpiece at a speed necessary for the development of centrifugal forces ensuring plastic deformation and damping mechanical oscillations of the workpiece to ensure steady rotation thereof. A steel ring 19, Fig. 1, to be expanded and hardened, is connected by flexible diaphragms 20, 21 to a shaft 1 rotated by shafts 15, 16 at a speed, for a ring of 280 mm. outside diameter and 225 mm. inside diameter, of 19,000 r.p.m. The ring 19 is thus deformed by the centrifugal forces generated to the shape 191. In another arrangement, Fig. 2, a steel blank 22 is clamped at one end by means 23, 24 to the shaft 1 and rotated at 17,000 r.p.m., whereupon it takes up the shape 221. The shaft 1 is also connected, through a shaft 3, with a mechanical oscillation filter 25 comprising a weight 10 and flexible element 9 on a shaft 4. The shaft 4 is articulated at 7 to a fixed support 2 and passes through a multi-plate friction damper 12. The drive may alternatively be at the top of the shaft 1 and the damper at the bottom or the device may be in the form of a gyroscope. The workpiece may be heated, e.g. up to 500‹ C., or cooled during processing. Turbogenerator rings may be treated.
