Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,156,165. Moulding bearings. AMERICAN METAL PRODUCTS CO. 6 Sept., 1966, No. 39693/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] A bearing element comprises a cloth having two plies interlocked together with, and each formed of, threads of the same low-friction polymer, one ply being embedded in matrix material, the other ply being at least partly exposed to form a bearing surface. To form the bearing of Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), the cloth is coated with resin on one side and this side applied to a coated ring 16 the coatings then being bonded. In Fig. 4 (not shown), coated cloth has a backing 26 moulded against and then bonded on. The bearing ply may have a closer weave than the other ply. The threads are of PTFE, or polyalkylenes, e.g. polyethylene or polypropylene. The bonding material is of phenolic resin, e.g. phenolformaldehyde, or rubber. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 845,547.
