An air filter, used at the discharge end of a pneumatic conveyor, has its inward flow textile filter bags 22 cleaned successively by reverse flow of filtered air delivered by fan 34 to rotating nozzle 30, and a tapping 40 delivers a fraction of the output of fan 34 into a pipe 20, which connects a pressure gauge 18 to dust-laden air inlet duct 16, to stop pipe 20 from clogging. The scale of gauge 18 deducts the pressure drop produced by this cleaning air flow from the total pressure recorded. The filter has an inlet fan 14 and a dust ouflet 38.
