description A solid pigment composition for pigmenting organic materials comprises a finely divided inorganic pigment and a resinous substance which is soluble to the extent of at least 5% by weight in the organic material, the composition containing at least 60% by weight of pigment and the volume concentration of the pigment in the composition when under a uniform compressive pressure of 20 p.s.i. being less than 18%. "Volume concentration" is defined in Specification 978,242. The composition may also contain an organic pigment or lake, e.g. a copper phthalocyanine. The preferred inorganic pigment is a chrome pigment such as Zn, Pb, Ba, Ca, Zn-K, Mo-Pb chromates or Zn sulphochromate, Prussian blue, Brunswick green, or TiO2; others specified are CdS, Cd sulphoselenide, ZnO, iron oxides, vermilion and ultramarine. The resinous substance may be rosin, a chemically modified rosin, a calcium or barium salt thereof, a polyvinyl alkyl benzene, or a copolymer of a vinyl alkyl benzene and an alkyl methacrylate or dialkyl fumarate. The composition may be made from an intimate mixture of pigment paste and resin paste by softening the mixture and then rehardening, e.g. by including a solvent having at least 0.1% by wt. aqueous solubility and heating and cooling the mixture; suitable solvents are methanol, ethenol, i-propanol, cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone and mixtures thereof. Example 7 relates to a pigmented paint based on a 69% oil length linseed pentaerythritol phthalate alkyd resin diluted with a standard TiO2 paint; Example 9 discloses a pigmented fluid printing ink comprising zinc-calcium rosinate, cyclized rubber, toluene and petroleum distillate, 9 (a) a similar ink comprising an esterified rosin and ethanol and 9 (b) an ink comprising nitrocellulose, a short oil length non-drying alkyd, methyl ethyl ketone, and ethyl acetate; Example 10 describes the pigmenting of polyvinyl chloride using dioctylphthalate as plasticizer (a), or the polymer in chip form (b), or a composition comprising cadmium/barium laurate stabilizer, stearic acid, and epoxidized soya bean oil as well as dioctyl phthalate (c), to give (a) a coloured dispersion, (b) pigmented chips for moulding and (c) a pigmented gel which is rolled into sheets.ALSO:A solid pigment composition for the pigmentation of an organic material comprises a finely divided inorganic pigment and a resinous substance which is soluble to the extent of at least 5% by weight in the organic material, the c
