A Pencil Point Protector Devised to Facilitate the Sharpening of Pencils or the like

Pencil-point protectors; pencil-sharpeners.- In a pencil-point protector and knife guide comprising a tube a slotted obliquely at a , the sides a of the slot forming guides for a knife blade during the operation of sharpening, a resilient support is provided for the point of the pencil. In the arrangement shown, an india-rubber plug b, which may serve also as an eraser, is inserted at one end of the tube; the plug is provided with a sloping surface b having preferably a central recess b in which the front of the pencil rests. The plug extends beyond the edge a of the tube so as to serve as a stop or cushion for the knife blade.
