description | 1, 014, 492. Photographic cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 15, 1962 [June 15, 1961], No. 23141/62. Heading G2A. In a photographic camera having a photoelectric exposure meter the pointer of which is explored by a sensing member, upon manual release of the shutter operating member, to adjust the diaphragm aperture and for the shutter speed, a latch is provided which, upon conditioning the shutter for delayed action exposure moves to prevent disengagement of the sensing member until completion of the exposure. As shown, the camera has a photo-electric exposure meter 3 with a pointer 4b the position of which is explored by a sensing member 7 when a slide 5 is depressed by operating the shutter release, such depression of slide 5 allowing downward travel of a sleeve 11 by an amount dependent on the position of the pointer 4b. A stop member 13 on the sleeve sets the diaphragm aperture and/or the shutter speed. Further downward movement of the slide 5 moves a sleeve 14 to actuate a bell-crank 21 and so release shutter trigger 20. By first moving an arm 22b on a ring 22 of the shutter from position X to position V the shutter may be set for delayed action exposure. Such movement of arm 22b causes a projection 22a on the ring 22 to release a pawl 19 from one end of a spring-loaded bellcrank 18 so that the latter will pivot clockwise and bring a latching element 18a into holding engagement with the sleeve 14, thus preventing movement of the sleeve 13 also. When the delayed action mechanism runs down, a pin 23 moves from B to A and pivots the bell-crank 18 so as to release the latch. |
