PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair having a standing-up assistance section which can be directly driven by a driving motor by simply arranging two lateral bars. SOLUTION: This chair can be adjusted from a normal position to a standing-up assistance position by four hinge chains 7 being arranged as pairs, and an operation-driving device 9. In this case, the operation-driving device 9 works on a first rotating lateral bar 11 which is connected to a transmitting device member for the adjustment of a foot-supporting body 5 and/or a backrest 6 by a pushing rod 10 at one side; and is connected to a second rotating lateral bar 12 which is connected to the four hinge chains 7 for the standing-up assisting function at the other side. Thus, the chair can directly be driven by the driving motor by simply arranging the two lateral bars. One each control lever 13 for the four hinge chains 7 is extended by exceeding a joint combining range 14 on the side wall. Also, the second rotating lateral bar 12 is fixedly combined to an extended section 15.
