The present invention relates to an information storage process as well as the support obtained by this process. According to this information storage process, a homogeneous layer (22) of at least one stress-sensitive active substance is deposited on the surface of a support (21), this or these active substances are next irreversibly deactivated in the areas (26) of the surface in order to create, outside these areas, privileged and accurately located information-storage sites (25) so as to obtain, on the support (21), an increase in the density of information storable per unit surface. This process finds an application in all sectors requiring the storage of information, especially in the sector of the storage of information on optical disks. La présente invention concerne un procédé de stockage d'informations ainsi que le support obtenu par ce procédé. Selon ce procédé de stockage d'informations, une couche homogène (22) d'au moins une substance active sensible à une contrainte est déposée sur la surface d'un support (21), cette ou ces substances actives sont ensuite irréversiblement désactivées dans les zones (26) de la surface pour créer en dehors de ces zones des sites (25) privilégiés et précisément localisés de stockage d'informations de façon à obtenir sur le support (21) une augmentation de la densité d'informations stockables par unité de surface. Ce procédé trouve application dans tous les domaines nécessitant le stockage d'information, notamment dans le domaine du stockage d'information sur des disques optiques.
