The method evaluates the permeability of a body (3) to a product and comprises the following steps: the body is placed between two reservoirs (4e, 4r). One of these (4e) is an emitting reservoir containing the said product and the other (4r) is the reservoir for receiving that part of the product which has passed through the body. The body separates the reservoirs and is adjacent to each of them; a pressure gradient is established between the reservoirs, thus causing at least a part of the said product contained in the emitting reservoir to be displaced through the body towards the receiving reservoir; the part of the product recovered from the receiving reservoir is analysed.
