Zusammenfassung: | Delayed coking of hydrocarbon feedstocks is effected with addn. of an antifoaming agent which is or includes a 6-12C aliphatic alcohol (I). Processes in which the feedstock contains less than 0.5wt.% S and the antifoaming agent is (I) alone are excluded. When the feedstock contains more than 0.5% S, the antifoaming agent can be (I) alone, opt. in a liq. carrier, or a mixt. of (I) and a liq. organosiloxane polymer (II). When the feedstock contains less than 0.5% S, a mixt. of (I) and (II) or other antifoaming agents must be used. Cpds. (I) provide the same foam control as silicones without contaminating naphtha fractions with potential catalyst poisons.
