Zusammenfassung:Appts. for spheroidising particles by fusion provides a vertical shaft supplied with hot combustion gas and having a particulate feed inlet above the gas source. The upper end of the shaft opens into an expansion chamber into which the particles are conveyed by the rising gas stream. The expansion chamber is surrounded by a jacket through which combustion supporting gas is passed for cooling, the resulting preheated gas being led to the burner producing the gases for the shaft. The appts. is used in conversion of crushed glass to beads. By using combustion air to cool the expansion chamber a significant amt. of heat is recovered, reducing fuel consumption by up to 25%. L'invention a pour objet un dispositif permettant notamment d'économiser l'énergie, dans l'emploi des fours pourvus d'une tuyère verticale formant foyer. Un four selon l'invention est principalement caractérisé par des moyens de préchauffage de l'air ambiant, constitués par une chemise 35, enveloppant une chambre d'expansion 20 et par des conduits 47 d'amenée de l'air ambiant dans la chemise, et par des conduits de sortie tels que 40 et 41 de l'air préchauffé, en direction de brûleurs 13 d'une tuyère 11.
