A new engine control system has been developed for diesel engines (10). This operates in accordance with the engine performance characteristic diagrams, to enable rich/weak running control. In the new controller (23), a computer changes over to rich- or weak running in accordance with predetermined criteria. A sensor system (26) connected to the computer monitors the relevant parameters. A memory connected to the computer stores the separate performance characteristics for rich and weak running of the diesel motor. |
