PLANTAS RESISTENTES A VIRUS QUE TIENEN ARN ANTISENTIDO

LA PRESENTE INVENCION PRESENTA LA PRODUCCION DE CELULAS VEGETALES QUE CONTIENE UN ARN INVERSO (AARN) COMPLEMENTARIO AL MARN DE UN VIRUS VEGETAL OBJETIVO. TAMBIEN SE PRESENTA LA FORMACION DE GENES DE AARN Y LA TRANSFORMACION DE GENES DE AARN EN CELULAS VEGETALES. TALES CELULAS SON RELATIVAMENTE RESIS...

description LA PRESENTE INVENCION PRESENTA LA PRODUCCION DE CELULAS VEGETALES QUE CONTIENE UN ARN INVERSO (AARN) COMPLEMENTARIO AL MARN DE UN VIRUS VEGETAL OBJETIVO. TAMBIEN SE PRESENTA LA FORMACION DE GENES DE AARN Y LA TRANSFORMACION DE GENES DE AARN EN CELULAS VEGETALES. TALES CELULAS SON RELATIVAMENTE RESISTENTES A LAS INFECCIONES PROVOCADAS POR LOS VIRUS OBJETIVO EN COMPARACION A LAS CELULAS QUE NO CONTIENEN AARN. ADEMAS, SE PRESENTAN TAMBIEN LOS METODOS Y LAS MOLECULAS DE ADN UTILES PARA LA PRODUCCION DE CELULAS VEGETALES QUE CONTENGAN AARN. The present invention discloses the making of plant cells which contain antisense RNA (aRNA) complementary to the mRNA of a target plant virus. Construction of aRNA genes and transformation of aRNA genes into plant cells is also taught. Such cells are relatively resistant to infection by the target virus when compared with cells not containing aRNA. Furthermore, methods and DNA molecules useful for producing plant cells containing aRNA are also disclosed.
