Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an arrangement for operating a shifting element for a bottom-bracket gear (1) comprising a shifting ring (4) which is rotatably mounted in a housing (3) and is assigned to a gear component, wherein a shifting pawl (5) for locking or releasing the shifting ring (4) is assigned to the shifting ring (4) for shifting a gear ratio, and wherein a support region mechanically reinforcing the housing (3) is provided at least along a contact region (14) between an inner wall (8) of the housing (3) and an outer circumference of the shifting ring (4) due to reaction forces (16) acting when the shifting ring (4) is locked. The invention also relates to a bottom-bracket gear having the arrangement and to a bicycle or pedelec having the bottom-bracket gear.
