An apparatus may obtain a surface model of a rock surface; determine, based on the surface model, whether a mesh can be installed on a planned position of the mesh on the rock surface without violating at least one deformation parameter of the mesh; and determine to refrain from installation of the mesh on the planned position of the mesh, in response to determining that the mesh can not be installed on the planned position of the mesh without violating the at least one deformation parameter.
