The invention also relates to a magnetic resonance system (10), comprising a magnetic resonance device, an optical imaging device (40), a control unit (22) and a processing unit (28), wherein the control unit (22) is configured to control the magnetic resonance device to acquire magnetic resonance image data from an object (32) inside an oral cavity of a patient (15) and/or to control the optical imaging device to acquire optical data from the object (32) inside the oral cavity of the patient (15), wherein the processing unit (28) is configured to merge the optical data with the magnetic resonance image data.
