description A system and method are provided for providing input commands from an input device to an electronic apparatus. For that purpose, sensor data is obtained from a sensor, the sensor data is analysed to identify an electronic apparatus in a workspace which is the target of attention of a user, input commands are obtained from an input device operated by the user, and if the input device operated by the user is different from the target input device, the input device operated by the user is used as a source input device for the target electronic apparatus by the input commands from the source input device being provided to the target electronic apparatus. The latter comprises, if the target input device represents a different input modality than the source input device, converting the input commands to the different input modality. This way, the source input device may be used to emulate the target input device, despite both input devices representing different input modalities. Advantageously, more of the available input devices near the user may be used to operate the target electronic apparatus, reducing the need to switch input devices.
