Said assembly comprising a wear element (2) and a support (3), which are coupled defining an interface between them, with a first and second interface surfaces (41, 51), and further a magnetic part (4) generating a magnetic field with having one of the magnetic poles perpendicular to said second interface surface (51); and a magnetic detector (5), oriented so as to have a maximum of detection in a direction perpendicular to said second interface surface (51); the second interface surface (51) having a channel (6) up to a first depth, within the corresponding wear element (2) or support (3), and a step-shaped recess (7), adjoining said channel (6), said magnetic detector (5) being provided in said step-shaped recess (7).
