Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for repairing a damage or a defect (20, 40, 60) in a piece (22) of metallic material, comprising:a) measuring with at least one sensor (121) of a remote operated vehicle (120) first geometrical data of at least a plurality of points or areas of the defect or damage;b) based on at least on said first geometrical data, generating data of one or more zones of said defect or damage to excavate;c) excavating with help of a remote operated vehicle (120) said piece according to said data of one or more zones of said defect or damage to excavate, thereby forming an excavated zone;d) depositing metallic material (28) with help of a remote operated vehicle in at least part of said excavated zone.
