Zusammenfassung:A stemless base (108; 508) of an implant has a length extending from a first end (124; 524) to a second end (120; 520). The stemless base includes a central portion (130; 530) defining a hole (104; 538) for securing another component of the implant to the stemless base. The stemless base also includes a plurality of spaced apart arms (128; 528A, 528B, 528C) extending radially outwardly from the second end of the stemless base and toward the first end of the stemless base, each arm of the plurality of spaced apart arms including an outer portion (160) and an inner portion (168), the inner portion spaced apart from the central portion such that an opening (172; 542) is defined between each arm of the plurality of spaced apart arms and the central portion. The stemless base further includes a peripheral member (140; 540) encircling the first end (124; 524) of the stemless base and extending outwardly of the outer portion of the plurality of spaced apart arms, the peripheral member disposed in a concentric relationship with the hole defined by the central portion, the peripheral member having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a diameter corresponding to a width of the first end of the stemless base, the distal portion of the peripheral member configured to engage bone, the peripheral member defining a recess that extends inwardly from the first end of the stemless base. The width of the first end of the stemless base is greater than a width of the second end of the stemless base.
