TERMINATING PACEMAKER MEDIATED TACHYCARDIA (PMT) IN DUAL CHAMBER LEADLESS PACEMAKER SYSTEM

An implantable system including an atrial leadless pacemaker (aLP) (102) and a ventricular leadless pacemaker (vLP) (104) configured to terminate a pacemaker mediated tachycardia (PMT) is disclosed. description An implantable system including an atrial leadless pacemaker (aLP) (102) and a ventricular leadless pacemaker (vLP) (104) configured to terminate a pacemaker mediated tachycardia (PMT) is disclosed. The aLP (102) detects a PMT and initiates a PMT PA interval that is shorter than a PA interval that the aLP (102) would otherwise use for atrial pacing if a PMT was not detected. The aLP (102) does not inform the vLP (104) of the atrial sensed event that caused the PMT to be detected thereby preventing the vLP (104) from initiating a PV interval during the PMT PA interval. If an intrinsic atrial event is detected before PMT PA interval expires, then the PMT PA interval is terminated, otherwise an atrial chamber is paced if the PMT PA interval expires. The aLP (102) informs the vLP (104) of the intrinsic atrial event detecting during the PMT PA interval or of the atrial paced event.
