Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a method for treating cancer in patient in need thereof comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a nucleoside, e.g., a reverse transcriptase inhibitor (RTI), to the patient according to a continuous or an intermittent dosing schedule. RTIs include, but are not limited to, lamivudine (3TC), stavudine (d4T), emtricitabine (FTC), abacavir (ABC), tenofovir alafenamide, zidovudine (AZT), zalcitabine (ddC), didanosine (ddI), tenofovir disoproxil, adefovir dipivoxil, entecavir (ETV), telbivudine, and islatravir.
