VESSEL FOR TRANSPORTING OR USING A COLD FLUID

The present invention relates to a vessel (3) for transporting cold fluid. The vessel (3, 70) includes: a load-bearing structure; at least one closed insulation tank (4); and a gas management installation part. The load-bearing structure comprises a longitudinally extending hull, and at least one transverse cofferdam (9) subdividing the hull into a plurality of segments, wherein one or each transverse cofferdam (9) includes a pair of transverse bulkheads (7, 8) defining an inner space of the transverse cofferdam (9) and an upper wall closing the inner space. The at least one closed insulation tank (4) is arranged in a segment of the hull adjacent to the transverse cofferdam (9). The gas management installation part is for managing gas atmosphere in the inner space of the transverse cofferdam (9). An objective of the present invention is to provide the vessel in which the temperature can be lowered in the inner space of the transverse cofferdam to reduce the heat flow between the inner space and adjacent tanks and thus an evaporation rate in the tank containing cool liquid.
