A signal obtained from a product comprising the recyclable material can be processed to detect presence or absence of the combination of markers therein. Based on the detection of the combination of markers, information indicative of the one or more properties of the at least one ingredient material component is determined, and based on the information it is decided either about a suitable recycling process for reusing the at least one ingredient material component, or a suitable disposal process for disposing the product.
