SUB-CHAMBER TYPE ENGINE

Provided is a sub-chamber type engine including: a cylinder head that mainly demarcates a main combustion chamber together with a cylinder liner and a piston top; a sub-chamber clasp that is mounted on the cylinder head when a distal-end section thereof is inserted into an insertion hole formed in the cylinder head; a sub-chamber holder that is disposed inside the cylinder head; and a sub-chamber-clasp holding member that is fixed to the sub-chamber holder and that is configured to be able to support the sub-chamber clasp in a hanging manner. The sub-chamber clasp includes a diameter-reduced section, the diameter of which is reduced from a base-end section of the sub-chamber clasp toward an intermediate section that has a smaller outer diameter than the base-end section. The sub-chamber-clasp holding member is configured to lock the diameter-reduced section and to have a gap with respect to the base-end section, when supporting the sub-chamber clasp in a hanging manner.
