METHOD FOR EFFICIENTLY PAGING APPLICATION-RELATED INTERNET-OF-THINGS DEVICES

The invention discloses a method for efficiently paging application-related Internet-of-Things devices. The objective to provide a method for selecting paging groups of IoT devices that belong to the same IoT application instead of using a pseudo-random assignment will be solved by a method for efficiently paging Internet-of-Things devices (IoT devices) which periodically exchange data with IoT cloud services via a cellular network comprising a radio access network (RAN), and a core network (CN), whereas a paging configuration of said IoT devices is maintained in the CN and provided to the RAN on need basis and a paging channel for mobile terminated data is periodically monitored by said IoT devices, wherein IoT devices belonging to one IoT application located in the IoT cloud service are assigned and grouped to a same paging occasion within a paging cycle due to traffic patterns of said IoT devices that are correlated in time and space.
