Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock, comprising a lock latch (2), a pawl (3) and a further lock component (4), more particularly a strike plate (5) or strike plate part, wherein: the lock latch (2) is mounted for pivoting about a geometric lock latch axis (2a) which is stationary relative to the further lock component (4), and the pawl (3) is mounted for pivoting about a pawl axis (3a) which is stationary relative to the further lock component (4); the lock latch (2) can be pivoted into an open position, into a main locking position and optionally into a pre-locking position located between the open position and the main locking position; in the assembled state, the lock latch (2) is in retaining engagement with a locking part (8) when the lock latch is in a locking position and the lock latch (2) releases the locking part (8) in the open position; the pawl (3) blocks the lock latch (2) from moving in the opening direction thereof when the lock latch is in the locking direction; a braking assembly (9) is provided, which is separate from the pawl (3), is designed more particularly as a friction brake, and has a braking contour (10) and a counter contour (11), which are in or can be brought into engagement with each other, pivoting of the lock latch (2) out of the main locking position thereby being braked in any case. It is proposed that a casing (12) of the lock latch (2) and/or of the further lock component (4) provides the braking contour (10).
