description A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion sized and shaped so that, in an operative position, a proximal end thereof aligns with a vastus ridge of a greater trochanter of a femur. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion. The shaft portion includes offset holes to receive bone fixation elements therethrough. Each of the offset holes includes a first hole positioned on a first side of a longitudinal axis of the plate and a second hole positioned on a second side of the longitudinal axis opposite the first side so that bone fixation elements inserted therethrough extend anterior and posterior of a prosthetic received within the femur. The first and second holes are staggered relative to one another along a length of the shaft portion and extending beyond longitudinal edges of the shaft portion.
