MACHINE TOOL AND MACHINE TOOL ARRANGEMENT

The invention relates to a machine tool (1) having at least one tool spindle or working spindle (2, 4) which is movable along linear guides in the X-, Y- and/or Z-direction and is guided on a machine frame (6), and having a tool magazine (13) with a multiplicity of holders for tools (36) which are insertable into the working spindle (2, 3) or removable therefrom by means of a manipulator (62), and having a workpiece carrier (82, 84) for a workpiece (76) to be machined, characterized in that the tool magazine (13) is arranged above the working spindles (2, 4, 48, 50) and the manipulator (62) has a rack (64) which has, per working spindle (2, 4, 48, 50), at least one tool receptacle (66) for a new tool (36) to be removed from the tool magazine (13) and an empty space (68) for a tool (36') held in the working spindle (2, 4, 48, 50), and which is movable, preferably in the X- and Z-direction, between the tool magazine (13) and the working spindle (2, 4, 48, 50) for a tool change, wherein the machine tool is designed to move the working spindle (2, 4, 48, 50) synchronously with the rack (54) during the tool change.
