description The present invention relates to a stent delivery system comprising an outer sheath, an inner member extending through and longitudinally slidable within the outer sheath, the inner member including a distal tip at a distal end thereof and a handle at a proximal end thereof, a stent having a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the inner member extending through the stent, wherein the outer sheath extends from the distal tip to a proximal end, the outer sheath including a proximal portion and a distal portion, the outer sheath surrounding the stent to restrain the stent in the collapsed configuration, and a middle junction detachably coupling the distal portion of the outer sheath to the proximal portion of the outer sheath, the middle junction being actuatable to selectively uncouple the distal portion of the outer sheath from the proximal portion of the outer sheath , wherein the middle junction is disposed over a midsection of the stent, wherein the middle junction includes interlocking male and female parts in a rotational connection.
