Zusammenfassung:The present invention pertains to an electrical system, in particular designed to be installed on board an electric or hybrid vehicle, whereby said electrical system includes an AC-to-DC converter that includes a rectifier and a DC-to-DC converter, an isolated DC-to-DC converter connected to a high voltage battery, and whereby said electrical system is configured, in a first operating mode, to be connected to an external alternating electricity grid to charge the high voltage battery. Furthermore, the first interface terminals of the DC-to-DC converter are connected to a low voltage battery, whereby said electrical system is configured so that, in a second operating mode, when the electrical system is disconnected from the external alternating electricity grid, said DC-to-DC converter supplies an initial voltage from the high voltage battery to power the low voltage battery.
