description Apparatuses and methods are described herein for a wireless communication device having a first subscription and a second subscription to request uplink grants associated with the first subscription from a base station associated with the first subscription using at least one Radio Frequency (RF) resource. Embodiments include, but not limited to, determining a length of a tune-away time interval in which the at least one RF resource is configured to be associated with the second subscription, transmitting at least one scheduling request associated with the first subscription after the tune-away time interval ends for a throttled time interval in response to the length of the tune-away time interval exceeding a threshold, and transmitting at least one scheduling request associated with the first subscription after the tune-away time interval ends for a default time interval in response to the length of the tune-away time interval not exceeding the threshold. A length of the throttled time interval is shorter than a length of the default time interval.
