Zusammenfassung:Disclosed are a method for direct communication and a rely UE, the method comprising: in the process of configuring a direct communication with a remote UE, receiving, from the remote UE, a direct communication request message comprising information on a maximum inactivity period; starting a timer corresponding to the maximum inactivity period when data transmission or signaling via the direct connection with the remote UE is completed; and if no message is received from the remote UE by the time the timer expires, locally releasing the direct connection with the remote UE.
