IMPROVED FLEXIBLE ROBOTIC ENDOSCOPY SYSTEM

An embodiment of the invention is a master-slave endoscopy system comprising:(a) an endoscope including:(i) an insertion portion including a distal end with a plurality of instrument lumen outlets and an insertion tube with a plurality of instrument lumens each having a lumen length;(ii) an endoscope memory chip for digitally storing data for the plurality of lumen lengths;(iii) an endoscope interface for transferring the lumen length data;(b) one or more instruments, each including:(i) an instrument memory chip for digitally storing data for an instrument length;(ii) an instrument interface for transferring the instrument length data;(c) a translation mechanism for translation movement of the one or more instruments;(d) an instrument controller comprising a controller interface for receiving:(i) the lumen length data; and(ii) the instrument length data.
