description A dialysis machine (102) comprises a first sensor (127) for detecting motion of a patient (202), a second sensor (105) for detecting a health condition of the patient (202), a processing module in particular for controlling dialysis functions of a dialysis treatment and for identifying an emergency condition based at least in part on the information related to the motion of the patient (202), the information related to the health condition of the patient (202), and the information related to the status of the dialysis treatment. Furthermore, the dialysis machine comprises a transceiver and an alert mechanism for: generating an alert directed at the patient (202) indicating that a potential emergency condition has been identified; and receiving, from the patient (202), input indicating that the potential emergency is not an emergency condition, wherein the alert mechanism (204) is a device in form of a bracelet that is in wireless communication with the dialysis machine (102), the device (204) including a button that, when invoked by the patient, indicates that the potential emergency condition is not an emergency condition, wherein the alert mechanism (204) includes a storage device and is configured to receive and store patient information from the dialysis machine (102).
