Zusammenfassung:	A shifter for a vehicle transmission includes a shift member (120, 20) and a cable actuator (103, 52). The shift member (120, 20) is pivoted at a first pivot (28) for movement between multiple positions corresponding to multiple transmission gears. The cable actuator (103, 52) pivoted at a second pivot (74), driven for movement about the second pivot (74) by movement of the shift member (120, 20) about the first pivot (28) and has a cable connector (64) adapted to be connected to a shift cable (21) that is associated with the vehicle transmission, wherein the first pivot (28) is arranged about a first axis (30) and the second pivot (74) is arranged about a second axis (78) that is not parallel to the first axis (30).
