Zusammenfassung:A retention housing (98) for the outer race (94) of a bearing of a gas turbine engine (10) includes a spring finger housing (110) connected to and overlying a bearing housing (100) that is connected to the outer race of the bearing (90). The spring finger housing (110) includes an arrangement of spring fingers (120) that yields a lightweight retention housing (98) capable of withstanding very high radial loads combined with very high torsional windup and axial thrust load. Dowel pins (136), arranged in corresponding blind bores at the aft end (102) of bearing housing (100) and extending radially from the bearing housing (100) and through the engine's interface shell (86) limit the deflection and self-arrest the distortion in a circumferential direction of the housing (98).
