Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to an oven comprising an oven cavity (10) with a closable opening (12) for receiving food to be cooked or baked, an evaporation cavity (26) in a bottom wall (24) of the oven cavity (10) and an evaporation heating element (28) being arranged for heating the evaporation cavity (26). According to the invention the evaporation cavity (26) is formed as an embossment in the bottom wall (24) of the oven cavity (10) and the heating power of the evaporation heating element (28) is adapted to evaporate a volume of water to be evaporated that corresponds to the volume of such an embossment.
