Zusammenfassung:With a device on a spinning preparation machine, for example, carding machine, cleaner, combing machine or similar, wherein at least one carding element is arranged opposite a covered roller at a distance and extends over the whole width of the roller, said carding element having a longitudinal support body which comprises a base part and a back part, a covering is fastened by force fit to the base part of the support body and at least one cavity is provided for imparting the force fit. In order to create a device which, in particular, is simple in design, in particular, enabling the covering to be fastened to the support body in a simple manner and allowing the covering to be changed quickly, the cavity is under negative pressure and the force fit between the support body and the covering occurs by negative pressure, wherein at least one seal is provided between the cavity and the other partner (covering of the support body).
