The rider roll (30) is provided with a vibration damper (40) arranged to attenuate rotational vibration of the rider roll such that the machine directional concurrent vibration of the web roll is attenuated via tangential force interaction between the rider roll (30) and the web roll (25), and that the vibration damper (40) comprises a mass element (42) which is rigidly coupled by a coupling system to the rider roll (30) to rotate along with the rider roll.
