Zusammenfassung: | A corrosion inhibiting coating for metal objects as well as a method for applying a coating is described. Said coating comprising at least one cerium oxide and at least one polymer. The polymer comprises at least one cathecholic component covalently bound thereto, and the at least one polymer displays a net positive charge at a pH of 7. The material inventive coating is environmental friendly and does not display serious health risks. Further an excellent corrosion inhibition is obtained for metals, even for carbon steel. The corrosion the properties of a coated surface is comparable with those of stainless steel. |
