description The present invention relates to a luminous element (10) comprising a hollow body comprising a layer or layer arrangement applied to the inner face of a dimensionally stable surface of rotation or in the surface of rotation itself, having at least one layer (12) emitting light, such as an OLED layer, at least one first electrode layer (23) and at least one second electrode layer (13), wherein means (15, 17) for contacting the electrode layers of the luminous element are further provided, as well as means for sealing the hollow body in a gas-tight manner. According to the invention, the means for contacting the electrode layers of the luminous element comprise at least one first contact plate (15) fitted in a cylindrical region (22) of the hollow body and extending over the cross section of said cylindrical region, the circumference thereof contacting the first electrode layer (13). A second contact plate (17) is preferably further disposed at an axial distance from the first contact plate, also extending over the cross section of the cylindrical region of the hollow body and contacting the circumference of the second electrode layer (23).
