Cosmetic preparation for treating keratin fibers, comprises cationic surfactants, at least one fatty alcohol with a melting point of above 35[deg] C, and lactic acid. The amount of an interlamellar bound water content is at least 50%, measured by 1H-NMR diffusion measurements at 25[deg] C.
