Ein Dornfortsatz-Implantat ist mit zur medianen Sagittalebene des Patienten im Wesentlichen senkrechter Längsachse zwischen einem oberen und einem anschließenden unteren Dornfortsatz positionierbar. Das Implantat weist als Abstandhalter obere Stützmittel (10.1) und untere Stützmittel (10.2) auf, die jeweils mit einem vertieften Sattel (12) an dem oberen bzw. unteren Dornfortsatz zur Anlage kommen. Die Stützmittel (10.1, 10.2) sind mittels Spannmitteln (16, 18) aufspreizbar, welche zwischen den Stützmittel (10.1, 10.2) in Längsrichtung angeordnet sind.
