Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer mit einem Polymer belegten, metallischen Packung, wobei das für die Belegung der Packung mit dem Polymer eingesetzte Polymer in einem Lösungsmittel derart löslich ist, dass mindestens 0,01 g Polymer pro Liter Lösungsmittel gelöst werden, wobei man die Packung mit einer Lösung, welche das Polymer enthält, in Kontakt bringt sowie die Verwendung der hergestellten Packungen zum Wärme und / oder Stoffaustausch.
