Zusammenfassung:	The unit (27) has carriers (30-31) and a spherical head that are co-acting with a supporting device (28) to convey a patient from a pre-arrangement chamber into a radiation chamber or a treatment chamber in a rolling position and/or tilting position. A conveying device (29) is designed for holding and conveying the supporting device. One of holding modules (35) is utilized for holding the supporting device by a robot arm. A rechargeable battery is arranged in the conveying device for energy supply of an electromagnetic drive. An independent claim is also included for a method for conveying an immobilized patient from the chamber into another chamber of the radiation therapy system.
