An independent claim is also included for a domestic appliance comprising the above door. Preferred Features: The protective device is a blocking element which can be adjusted into a blocking position to prevent the pivoting movement of the handle, a freewheel which uncouples the handle from the control mechanism, or a spring element which absorbs movement of the handle.
